I have a dried chinese lantern plant. I took out the nut and was hoping to plant it. What are the conditions this plant wants? I live in eastern canada so I cogitate I will have to plant it indoors. How should I start the kernel? Thanks!

Well, I live in MN and I can't stop it from growing. I accidentally weed whacked it one year and next mowed over it another year. Still grows. Just plant it in the ground almost 1/4 inch or less down. It grows right subsequent to the lawn and reseeds itself annually. Wait to plant until the ground warm up. It does pretty well beside partial sun.
