Can I transplant daffodyls in the spring after they've bloomed?

We bought a new house and I'd like to transplant them but they're blooming right now. If I move them, can I take off the leaves and stalk and just save the bulb? Do I replant them right away or wait till fall?

Answers:
yes you can...just dont kill the foilage off...leave that until it is brown before mowing/cutting back..that is how the bulb stores food for next years growth.

i have moved them in the spring and they might not bloom as good the following year but the year after they are back to normal..matter of fact i had some come up where i dont want them and will be moving them tomorrow

just keep them watered a bit after moving to help them alot some

Other answers:
those things are almost impossible to kill. just transplant them the bloom will prolly die.

Waiting till next fall is the best. There then in a dormant stage. Plant them later. As soon as they feel that ground warm up they'll pop up. But if yer in a hurry to replant them, they should be fine. A Daffodyls a pretty hardy bulb!
Happy Planting! :) SmileyCat
It's better to wait until they go dormant (the leaves dry up) and then move them. If you have to move them before then do not cut the leaves off! That will injure them.
Wait for six or seven weeks after the flowers have died , then you can transplant.
