Growing Bamboo surrounded by Seattle/Everett nouns?
A few of my question would be...
What type of bamboo would grow nearby? What species name?
Where would be the place to aquire the seed to grow the bamboo?
What is matienance similar to for "non running bamboo"?
And, I would like to be told of single bamboo species that can grow nearby if any that are non running bamboo.

Answers: Hi Bob!
Most clearly you can grow bamboo contained by the Seattle area! You own many choices to choose from, near the most common anyone running bamboos in the Phyllostachys household. These can be invasive in a residential neighborhood but for properly contained, so that is outstandingly recommended.
You also can plant many of the mountain clumpers, such as those contained by the Fargesia family. These are not invasive, but will grow outward slowly till it reach the natural diameter for that type. The lone maintenance would be standard fertilizing, watering and pruning if desired.
As for wicker seeds, they are firm to come by in the US, and seedling take much longer to conquer a usable size then purchasing potted or pasture grown divisions.
There are numerous bamboo retailers within the Seattle area. I googled rattan + Seattle and found many right away that should own exactly what you need! Here's a couple to acquire you started...

go to a accurate nursery they would be the best ones to tell if it will grow the merely kind of wicker is what is called clumping wicker any other kind is too invasive
Seattle is certainly a great place to grow bamboo. There is a GREAT nursery outside of Portland (www.bamboogarden.com) that have plenty of varieties that will grow contained by the area. Although runners are invasive they pack in other and can be controlled fairly glibly. All the info you'll need will be at the site.
