how do I install an brick patio?

I also need to rip up an old concrete slab patio.

Answers:
Jack hammer. Break up the concrete and cart it away.
Level the dirt.
Pour 3 to 4 inches of sand and compact it. Go rent a compacter.
Start laying the bricks in the pattern you choose.
Pour sand over the bricks, and use the compacter again.
The sand will work itself down between the bricks. This will stop them from moving.
