Anyone have any tips to boost crops on this tree, I have one of these contained by my garden, 15 years old, dont capture much of a crop. All other apple varieties contained by my and neighbours gardens get wearing clothes crops.
Answers: Try shortening the lateral side shoots to within two or three buds of the biggest stem,this will promote production of fruiting spurs.Also,cut back the influential shoots to about two-thirds.
This group should have a cross pollinator in the neighbourhood,check with your neighbours and plant a crab apple if vital.
do you give your crops fertilizer if you do try to endow with it more often than your doing right know it might call for more.
