What to do with Tulips & Hyacinth once they're done blooming?
Answers:
Leave the leaves on all bulbs for as long as possible. They feed the bulb which stores nutrients for next year. The less food made by the leaves, the weaker the plant next year. Dig them up when the leaves die back.

Tulips and Hyacinths come back only when they are exposed to cold for 3-4 months.in your area, you'd have to put the bulbs in the freezer in a paper bag (with some peat moss around the bulbs.)...then plant them in March.I'm in N. Ohio so I just leave them in the ground.
In southern climates these bulbs are considered throw aways or once bloomed forgotten. If you want to reuse them dig them dust for bugs put in a paper sack in the veggie drawer of your refridge. Do no freeze them!! Do not put fruit into the same drawer or your bulbs are ruined. When Nov rolls around plant your bulbs again.
You will need to dig them up and put them in a cool, dark area for awhile. Wait to dig until after all of the leaves have wilted back as the leaves help to store essential nutrients to help in the plants next bloom.
cut the flowers off and leave the bulb in the soil.
It will come back again next year.
