When you decided on what pool builder to use, what made your decision?

Answers:
I chose my father-in-law, who is a contractor. He did it for free labor. In the end, I would rather have paid someone the labor rather than to have had all the problems we had with him. My suggestion, don't use family. For my tiling by the pool, we used a young guy who did an amazing job. We did it based on talking to previous customers of his, seeing his work in other places, and a fair price. The custom work he did was amazing. We had a problem with another contractor and I would recommend calling the state to check whoever you use's contractor numbers and verify his bonding. Then, if he has subcontractors, make them all sign contracts saying they won't sue you if the contractor doesn't pay them.
