I have some hydrangea and the flowers are adjectives dead. Do I cut a moment ago the heads past its sell-by date or should I cut down to the root? What about tiger lillies? Will they grow better if I cut them short?

Answers: Leave the leaves on the lillys till frost after snip off, they are still production food for plant now. Hydrangea dont prune untill frost. It's too untimely yet! Don't jump crazy to the ground, the plants might not survive! Just trim neatly, going away main frame short lots of lengthy twigs and you will catch good latest growth next spring.
