What's the difference between annuals and perennials?

Answers:
Annuals live their complete life cycle in one year. Once they start flowering, they keep blooming, some just until they have produced seeds, and others until the weather is unsuitable for their growth. Many summer annuals bloom all summer and well into fall, stopping only at the first frost. Some annuals come in almost every color of the rainbow, such as petunias, impatiens and verbena, while others focus on tones of one color: marigolds in every conceivable line of yellow and orange; lobelia in all the blues; geraniums (Pelargonium spp.) in several reds, pinks salmons, mauves and now white.
Perennials are plants that live for several years or more. They grow and bloom at their own time of the year, then grow and rest until the next blooming season. Some species are herbaceous, which means that the stems, leaves and flowers die away at the end of the season, leaving the crown and roots in the soil resting. Others, generally low-growing rockery plants, stay evergreen throughout the year, giving us some winter interest in the garden. There are many situations where annuals and perennials can be planted together for the best effect.

So now you know the difference..."So why would you choose annuals if they require more replanting? What are the benefits of annuals? What are the possible drawbacks of perennials, and which plants are which?" To learn more, go to the second link below:

Annuals only live one summer and dies when it frosts. Perrenials come back every year.
yeah, what Princess said, and perennials die back and then grow/flower each year
Annuals live one Annum - Perenials - perenially (forever) and then there are semi-annuals - that bloom every second year.
Annuals have to be re-planted yearly. perennials come back every year. however, I've learned how to harvest the seeds from perennials and save them for the next year. It's very easy !
annual plants last only one season (marigolds, alysum,petunias..etc) and are non bulb or tuberplants. (those are tulips, hyacins, daffodils) Perennials are flowers that last season after season. A better value in the long run so you do not have to buy new plants every year as long as you keep them covered, cozy and happy during winter season. (these are chrysanthmums, clematis, etc.)
