I hosed down the yard last night and caught about 3,000 nightcrawlers. Besides for fish bait, are they useful?
Answers:
Set up a live bait stand and make a few bucks.

You can use them in a compost heap...or eat them.

Turn them loose, they are good for keeping your soil fertile and loose, but they sure arent going to get up and ride bikes or anything. Why would you spend so much time catching worms if you didnt want to use them for bait?
I enjoy them deep-fried in extra virgin olive oil.
Great for freaking out old people & small children.
Dump a pile somewhere in a mall & watch the fun!
put 'em in your compost.. if you don't have a compost this'd be a great time to start one...
ps. I use household compost on my rhubarab with fantastic results - beleive it or not Iactually crop out about 3 1/2 times a year! (I think average is twice)
Although I loath worm with a passion, they are great for keeping your soil loose and aerated. Their droppings also make a top of the line compost for fertilizing your plants.
Their fecal matter enriches your soil.
