Growing corn, when to pick it?

I need to know when my corn I planted is ripe.

Answers:
bobcat got it tassles start a turning but mine wasn't quite ready at all and then bam 4 days later ready to eat Today actually! Do think you'll have to physically open corn up and give it a good looks see.

Other answers:
Peel back the top of the ear (just below the silks), see if the corn at the end looks developed. The silks will also start to die "turn brown" very slightly when it's time to pick.

Pick it when the ear feels full when you give it a little squeeze, and the silk has turned brown & is beginning to dry. At this point, the raccoons will be trying to pick it before you get the chance.
bobkat is on the money with there answer....
When the tassels turns brown, and pull down a shuck poke your nail in a kernel if it squirts juice it's ready to eat
