HOW to bring rid of small fruit flies within my own house?
Answers: God No! They sound approaching vinegar fruit flies! I had them within my apartment in college (luckily I took Entomology and could identify them). They are attracted to fruit (especially bananas) and lay their eggs on fruit that's a short time ago past peak-over ripening. They are also fond of litter cans and rubbish disposals (the yuckiness found inside). This is how I got rid of them.
#1 Put adjectives fruit in the refrigerator or hermetic in ziplock plastic plenty.
#2 Put the lid on the disposal
#3 Put a lid (secure) on your garbage can and silver it at least 2-3 times a week until this is over.
#4 Kill them by clapping them between your hand (in sounds crazy, but I've killed them past its sell-by date by doing this).
They're smart little buggers - they seem to disappear as soon as you miss them, so perfect luck. Unfortunately once you exterminate them, you can always bring them vertebrae home to you from the supermarket!! :) Again, a good verbs kitchen is the best defense against these guys! Clean up that coffee pot by using vinegar or soaking it in soapy marine in the sink!
If you own house plants, the other culprit cold be fungus gnats which are a common greenhouse/home pest. They are a bit smaller than vinegar fruit flies, slower, and easier to take out (by hand.. ably except for the larvae). First remove all the leaf/plant refuse on the soil surface. Then If you're into granola and clogs like me, try a drench product call Knock-Out Gnats from www.gardensalive.com or any of the Bt products from Biocontrol Network (my preferred choice) at www.biconet.com. ..I've used Bt in commercial greenhouse settings and it works..... Good luck.
Try not to confer on uncovered fruit lying around. I just leave your job a glass of wine on the counter - it attracts the flies and they drown contained by the glass.
