Are acorns appetizing and if so how do i know when to chomp through them?
Answers: They are edible. This have been asked oodles times and usually, a majority of the answers say no or that they are poisonous. Historically acorns own been a thoroughly important food worldwide. Before the nouns of agriculture they probably were one of the most celebrated foods.
Yesthey contain tannin which varies by type. They are usually soaked or boiled within several changes of dampen to remove the tannin. Then they may be dried and ground into flour or cooked and mashed into a category of porridge.
There is some evidence that the Italian dish polenta may have originally be acorns. And in Italy pigs are repeatedly allowed to forage for them.
I have eat them, prepared as above but coarsly ground, kind of close to cornmeal mush. They were bland next to a slight nutty flavor.
Edit: They are harvested when they nose-dive or can be shaken from the tree.
you can eat them but they will formulate you very sick
