I had sod and an irrigation system installed in my backyard. I'm in Arizona and have the BOB sod which is very thick. Its a blend of 4 different kinds of grass but mostly Bermudagrass. Because its so thick, its hard to mow it too much shorter and some of the sprinkler heads are not sticking up above the grass enough to water correctly. Is there an easy way to extend the heads a little higher or does each head need to be dug up and more PVC pipe need to be installed? I need them to be sticking up about an inch higher.
Answers:
check out home depot or lowes irrig. dept. they have plastic risers that can be screwed in where the head is. They come in all diff. sizes so find out what size your water line is. They are usually half inch dia.
Other answers:
dig em up anything else will be more work and probably cause a problem.

I would call the person who installed it see if they can do it. its not your fault its like that. I would demand someone from the company to come out and fix there actions
I had same problem - I installed the expensive 8 inch toro pop-ups and I LOVE 'em
Plus I reduced pvc pipe down to 3/4" for the last 15 feet to each sprinkler head - more volume....
