The Jacobean bulb is of the Amaryllidaceae family. It is a lily...and may also be called the Aztec lily.
"Size: 20-30cm tall x 15cm
Depth & spacing: Plant with the crown at the surface & 12cm apart.
Preferred aspect: Full sun.
Preferred soil type: Well drained.
Watering:Water while actively growing. Allow the bulbs to remain fairly dry while dormant.
Fertilising: Annually top dress in Spring with a general purpose fertiliser.
Flowering time: Spring
Pruning required: None.
Frost tolerance: Frost tender..
Climatic tolerances: Cool to sub-trop.
Comments: The flowers are good for picking and they can be grown in pots."
