Houston, TX; call before you dig phone number?

I want to dig in my back yard but I remember that I should call a phone number before doing that so that someone can come out and mark various lines (phone, cable, etc) so that I don't cut them.

Answers:
Beneath Houston's concrete and asphalt lies the complex network supporting our cities' productivity and vitality--a network that is an extension of the United States' underground infrastructure of about 20 million miles of wire, pipe, and cable. One careless dig can cause costly delays in service, environmental damage, liability, personal injury and even death. To protect underground facilities and the general public's welfare from incidents such as these, CenterPoint Energy, the company that delivers electricity and sells and delivers natural gas, in the Greater Houston area reminds customers it's the law to use the "One-Call " system before digging -- Dig Safely 1-800-669-8344 or 713-223-4567. This service is free of charge and should be scheduled at least two business days (48 hours) before beginning a project.
