what is the best tree to shade a house?

we have pines and they are messy, and I would like something that grows close to the house, so I can maximize the amount of grass I have.

Answers:
IT DEPENDS ON WHAT ZONE YOU ARE IN....SOME TREES GROW BETTER IN COLDER CLIMATE, OTHERS NOT. I HAVE FIR TREE IN BACK AND IT IS VERY MESSY. YOU DONT WANT TO PUT TREE TOO CLOSE TO HOUSE OR THE ROOTS MIGHT MESS UP YOUR STRUCTURE ETC. YOU CAN ALWAYS GO TO LIBRARY AND GET BOOK ON TREE. OR PUT "BEST SHADE TREE" IN YOUR SEARCH BOX. GOOD LUCK!

I like Maples.
Pongamia besides Neem. Neem is the best but pongamia gives fantastic shade.
