Can you move strawberry plants ?

I have 8 or 9 strawberry plants contained by my veg garden however i want to move them. THey are a year onld and have loads of runners. ive departed them at the moment but i want to turn my veg garden into a flower garden. could i put them in a nouns of old tyre for instance or should i freshly start again?
