We live in north east Texas and enjoy a few of what we were told are Catalpa trees. Today we notice that all of the flowers around the basis are covered with a sticky, black substance. This substance is dripping from more or less high as economically as covering the side of the tree all the bearing to the ground. All of the flowers and plants around the tree are spotted where this substance splashes when it hits. There is also a big puddle where it is accumulate.
We have lived here for three years and this is the first year it have done this.
Is this normal?
Is at hand anything we need to do?
Answers: It is usual! I have a catalpa tree and it is individual sap! Don't worry as long as it's stick. Although i would consider it smell it, touch it?
