You are supposed to remove old roofing back replacing it but many dated buildings have an assortment of layers. Has this ever cause a roof to fall within?

Interesting question. I checked some structural engineering facts and could not find a single structural failure next to multi-layer roofing as a cause. My guess is that because the nouns would be so well distributed and not a point type nouns that it would take copious many layer of roofing to cause a structural anticlimax.
Not that I am aware of.
