driping shower!!!?

please i need help. i used my shower today and tried to turn it off but it didn`t turn off fully .It now drips continuously.tried to turn it off but if i turned too far it just goes on again.

Answers:
there are so many types of faucets that its hard to tell what you need but they are usually a stem or a cartridge type
the best thing to do is turn off the water to the hot and cold in the shower then remove the Handel (usually a screw or even a small Allen screw) then remove the stem or cartridge, again this can be a challenge because there are many different types so study it and you can figure it out.
then take the part to a hardware store to get a replacement
this can be challenging but can save allot of money. good luck

Other answers:
the drip is either a bad seat or seat gasket on the other end of faucet , but it sounds like your knob is loose and now maybe stripped. take a flat head screwdriver and try to tighten screw in middle of faucet its under the chrome H or C on knob.

You may need a plumber, depending on how handy you are, and how well off you are for tools.
You don't really need that many tools, screwdriver and Allen wrenches, will do it, both are cheap to buy.
Determine, which faucet is leaking, hot or cold, if it's the one unit valve, that's easier.
Turn off your water, pry off the plastic cap, to reveal a screw, undo the screw, and pull out the stem.
You will find, either o-rings, or rubber washers on it. One is probably broken, or worn.
A trip to the hardware store, will get you a repair kit.
It maybe a good idea to take the stem with you and ask for help.
If you can, find out the manufacture and part number of your shut off valve, and visit their website. They have a multitude of options there.
Hope this helps. Its an easy job, when you know what you are doing, but difficult for amateurs.
YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE WASHER, ITS A LITTLE RUBBER BAND.EITHER BLACK OR RED
Depending on your brand of faucet it may need a new seat (kind of like a washer) or you may need to replace the entire stem behind the handle. Do you know where the water shut off is? Sometimes you are lucky & the previous owner installed a shut off under the house but usually you have to shut off the street valve. If you don't mind the drip while you are working though, slowly & carefully remove the handle & take the nut off the stem which runs inside to the daiphram, then go to a good hardware store, with knowledgeable staff. The most this will cost is probably under $15 Below is a link with pictures. Hope it helps.
