Why does my two year old water heaters pilot light keep going out?
Answers:
It needs cleaning, if you can access it yourself just take it out, they usually unscrew then blow it out or use a pipecleaner. Make sure you turn off gas.

is it adjusted so that you have a beneficial flame? is there a draft that causes it to blow out? these are the 2 most common reasons.

Assuming you can get it to light, if it goes out immediatly after lighting it (and holding down the pilot button for aprox. 1 min), then probably the thermocouple. If it plain wont light, then something is clogging the pilot. If its after some time, could be a draft or something blowing it out.
