Why do doors of houses open inward and doors to outbuildings open outward?
Answers:
Great question, I actually learned something I didn't know checking my facts before answering.
So houses are not covered by fire codes. Fire codes require that doors open outward to facilitate evacutation of buildings. So for public buildings, factories, shops, etc., they will always open outward.
Homes not controlled by such codes, open inward historically for security reasons. Remember if hinges are exposed externally, there isn't much point locking the door, somebody can gain entry with just a phillips screwdriver.
This topic is covered in a couple of places. Here is one of the best.

my guess would be that when you go home you open your door and go in, but you went to the barn you would probably have something big to get out ( hores, tractor, shovel) and the doors would be in your way because doors opening out give you more room.

thats in case the house blows over and lands on the door side..you can still open the door. The reason outbuildings open outward is so that you remember what building you are in
they just do
Here's my guess, you own your home and you are the one to decide who to let in.
At a business, people are comin' / goin' all day long.
(i really don't know but it's my best guess).
Good question.
Business doorways are required to go outward in case of a fire. Panic bars are also put on many to facilitate the ease to leave.
Homes do not have the same fire codes. Opening a door inward puts the hinges on the inside, and thus makes it harder for unwanted entry.
Another reason for house doors to open inward: You can't get imprisoned by a 3-foot snowfall.
