Is there a quick way to stop a leaking (dripping) shower head?
Answers:
yes, use plumbers tape. you can find it at the local hardware store.
Remove the shower head, wrap the tape around the threads a few times, then replace the head. Now it's as good as new.

You'll need to replace the O-ring (Gasket) inside the tube with a new one. They got worn out in time and become loose so some water can pass thru and it doesnt matter how tight you turned the tap it would still drip.
take it off and get a new one.
There might be something wrong with the switch thing that turns the shower on. You know how you need to pull something or flip something to turn the shower on? Maybe thats stuck in the on position.
If not, you need to replace something. Sometimes is the seal inside the shower head where the pipe connects and lets the water flow. Check it out, and if not, shut the water off for the whole house. lol, just dont forget to turn it back on!
I'm thinking you need a new rubber O ring as sum of the others have already mentioned. the tape is always good to use also where you have a connection. you can always ask your local home depot or where ever you shop about your problems and they tend to point you in the right direction.
good luck !
