Should I move into a hand-built house?

I am moving soon. I don't know if I should move into a hand-built or a put-together. I think hand-built because it is bigger and I want a large house. I want one in Chino, California or Santa Monica, California. Everything and everyone will come with me. The kids are happy to be moving. I will get a new job there. But I will still breed my dogs and spay/neuter the old ones.

sheetrock homes with the flimsy vinyl siding are crap, whether they are "hand built" or "factory built" like those modular homes.

not much difference there. both types are thrown together quickly by people hired off the streets.

However its made is not important since it has evrything you need. strong foundations & solid house, good space, air and a garden.

I believe that what you are asking is more like, Which has better QUALITY.., STICK BUILT..,( custom or hand built) OR
MODULAR.., (pre-built off site).
MY preference is, and will always be,custom stick built.
I have dealt with high end and low end "modulars". ..,there are Pros and Cons to be had with each. Yet I feel that the "end" product ,IF done "PROPERLY".., Can be equal .., all other factors being equal.
Next is the cost..,
If you have an experienced contractor.., And you are building from the foundation up.., I would still go with custom but you can save significantly on a modular.

The house you move into should be, most importantly, inspected by a home inspector.
Hand built or put together...they both come in all shapes and sizes.
