i was wondering this too....no. its not updated enough. i already asked that question at the ipod store, and they said no. on other ones you can. i wish though.
You can transfer them to the iPod and move them to another PC but you can't view them on the iPod itself. I've got a mini and I've tried.

yes you can, when you upload the ipod, you know when ur in itunes go to ur ipod file, normally your name is the file and at the top i think like peferences or something like that but anyways when you get there go to like display or pics or something like that and open the file with the pics you want and just load them into your file which in turn puts them on ur ipod. i have pictures on my ipod nano and the picture are clear and fine.
