How do I unclog my kitchen drain? I have no drano on hand. I think it is grease clogging it. Thanks!?
Answers:
If you have no tools or money to fix the clog try using a wire hanger (bent kind of straight) to run down the drain. Once in the drain wiggle it to help break up the clog and the try the hot water and vinegar or baking soda remedies.
Hope this helps.

Boil some hot water and pour down the drain
Boil some hot water and pour down the drain
boil water, lots of it, pour it down the drain
put a good amount of clorox or any kind of bleach and run hot water half hour later.
If you can, take apart the P trap (where the drain pipe goes down then towards the wall) under the sink. This is where the clog will normally be. Then you can pick out the clog with a tool or whatever.
1 cup of baking soda followed by 3 cups of boiling water or if you have it on hand, use washing soda in place of baking soda.
Put baking soda in the drain and pour in vinegar. It will fizz. Let set for 30 minuets, then flush with hot water.
Yup; hot water. You could also try some vinegar & baking soda.
Boil a large pan of water and when it is boiling pour it down the drain . Do you have any degreaser or Dawn ?? If so put some down drain just before the boiling water .
you put grease down drain?
amg.
not good thing to do.
grease could go in tuna can outside your door for starving cat/dog.
do what david said, unscrew P trap, guess they call it. from below sink pipe, have pan ready to catch water that sets there, figure out if that is full of sludge.
does bath drain do same thing? if it does, call plumber, might be hair/crud further down lines if you are hooked up with sewer.
best to try to call friend to help.
you might want to try and get a small "drain snake" from your local hardware. They cost under $20 and are easy to use. Just put the cutter end down the drain and turn it as it goes down the drain. If the clog is further down you can rent power snakes that reach up to 200 ft. Ask for assistance at the rental place on how to use it. They are pretty simple too.
