In my kitchen under the lower cabinet there is a 3 inch or so plastic srtip that runs along the wall. I requirement to replace it but don't know what it is called!

Yep... Diller called it. Just be sure to weigh up it before going to the hardware/flooring/paint store to carry a replacement... You'd hate to come home beside something that won't fit under the cabinet...
