Car trouble How long will it last?
Answers:
They measure the rotor with a caliper at it's thinnest point, if it's not within specs, they have to be replaced. 85,000 miles sounds like you got your moneys worth with those rotors. Bad break pads can also contribute to a shorter rotor life. The car is over ten years old, you're going to start running into problems.

80,000 miles is about the time for new front rotors and pads. you can do it yourself with some basic tools in about 2 hours. buy a chilton manual, it'll pay for itself with your first repair.
