On my AC/Heat controls, what is the 'Supplemental Heat' position used for?

I know I have a dual heat unit, a bake pump with gas burners that see on when it gets cold plenty.

However, when it is in the teens outside, or even within the 20's, the gas rarely comes on, and we surface it is cold in the house. Should I place the selector switch on supplemental boil and leave it near? I know this will use more gas, but it seems to reheat the house so much better.

The selector switch has Heat/Cold/Off/Suppl. Heat, is it sheltered to leave it on Suppl. Heat and not newly Heat during the winter months since it seems to thaw out better?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Answers:    Yes, you should use the supplemental heat setting. This allows the burners to work contained by tandem with the warmness pump. The heat pump will do alright on it's own down to almost 35-40 degrees' anything below that and it just can't save up with the emergency being put on it. Also, yes it is safe and sound to leave it set close to this for the entire winter. The heat pump and the burners should be integrated together. When you hold the setting on heat it is one and only using one of these devices, if it is set on supplemental heat they will work surrounded by tandem.
yeah the gas heat will be stove and save on your eletric bill fry pumps are useless after thirty degrees
