How do I get cats to stop marking their territory all over my yard?

very desperate

Answers:
Shoot them, buy a dog, buy a racoon, racoons can whip ***, or move, or put traps in the yard, mouse traps, poison, or setup a sprinkler system to spray 'em. I dunno, I'm clueless too. just move. yeah, just move to china where they eat em, you can make a killing of selling cats to chinese restaurants.

I heard mothballs. I also heard to pour amonia in the area that they are marking their territory. I know its a pain cuz i had the same problem.

Handguns worked for me.
get a dog
Get yourself a large dog, that should do the trick. We used to keep free range guinea pigs and our neighbours cat was coming over the wall and killing them. We bought a black lab and kept it around the piggies whilst it was young so they became used to each other, then when the cat came over the piggies had a big black guardian with teeth.
I had this problem in conjunction with them using my potted plants as their liter box. There is a product called REPELL which pet stores and some home improvement stores carry. It comes in a spray and granual formulation. I used the spray on the sides of my container plants and the granuals as a barrier around my yard and in the areas I smelled their ammonia scent most strongly. The spray form has to be applied more frequently, particularly after it rains or gets wet. The granual formulation lasts through the sprinklers, rain, etc. longer.

You have to be diligent, though. It took me about a month of treatment to send them off packing to my neighbors yards!
