Answers:    Are you talking just about the insulation in the door (black, pitch paper looking stuff). Best bet, newly peel sour whatever looks resembling it's fixing to come off. You don't want it getting into your pump. Your not imagined to notice any difference as far as rumble level (that's the fundamental purpose for the insulation).
I've never seen a dishwasher heat element motivation a fire. Worst I've seen is them shorting out and tripping the breaker.
