Kenmore Model #417.29042991 stackable washing machine will not spin the drum. It will drain, fill but will not spin in wash more or final spin mode or any other spin mode. It just clicks (sounds like it is clicking behind the control knob and and the electrical panel box in the bottom right hand corner of the machine.. belt is not busted. No, taping /hitting of the side of the washing machine has not helped. Yes my wife is nagging me to get this fixed ASAP. Have 5 kids = piles of laundry.

Either the drive shaft is misaligned, or if this unit has a belt, it has slipped off the pulley or snapped. Either way, let Sears come to fix it. Well worth it.

i'm having issues with my washer too. that sounds like a fairly new model though. you should have some type of warranty. or you may want to go back to where ever you purchased it and seek advice from them. or just contact kenmore.

The capacitor of the motor could go bad cause seem like it doesn't have enough juist to strart spin
Sears will inspect their appliances [KENMORE for a nominal fee].
They have done so for me in the past. This solution is easier than any guess and it will make your wife happy - worth it !!
