my HW circ pump left bits of impeller in the line and it's stopping the flow. what do I do?

Answers:
Locate where you think the obstruction might be lodged. A fitting, (especially a reducing fitting) or a 90 beginning a vertical run. Find the most probable place, cut the pipe at the best spot past that,(consider ease of repair,)find a hose long enough to discharge the water safely, hose clamp to it the pipe and turn the water back on. Have a helper or two assist you. If it flows freely you havent went far enough. If it seems restricted cut out section with fitting and remove debris. Two couplings will repair the damage but first ensure there arent any obstructions further down the line. First remove all the aerators, shower heads etc. See what size the pieces are if any. If the impeller disintegrated completely your problem could be solved just by cleaning out these discharge points.Try that before you cut any pipe. Still no luck, I would just continue down the line to the next most probable spot and repeat the process..Was the impeller metal? Plastic? Do you have a water filter? Consider all this as you try to find where it might be lodged. Best of luck to you.
