Threading for steel and style iron or neither ? ?? im not sure ? aid?

please help, What is threading, and why do i hold to do it ?
thnks

Answers:    To thread a hole you need to drill the right size of hole first and later use what is known as a set of tap.To cut a thread on a steel rod you need what is knowm as a set of dies.Whichever thread you are adjectives youwill need to use plenty of lubricant.(thats not K.Y.)
Drilling a thread contained by steel is common, it will see a bolt to be scewewd into the thread, cast iron is more difficult as it is so "brittle"
