What's wrong beside my gas hot sea furnace?

There's a steady drip coming from the overflow tube -- this has be an ongoing problem for some time, but seems to be getting worse. Any theory what could be wrong with this piece?

Answers:    That is the pressure relief stopcock. Either the valve is unpromising or you have too much pressure within the tank and the tap is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
To numeral out what the problem is you can do one of two things. Replace the valve it is still dripping, the pressure is too soaring or take a pressure reading near a pressure gauge. Do you hold an expansion tank on your hot wet system? If you don't you need one. You might want to appointment a plumber to have it installed.
