My faucet piece on my portable dishwasher doesn't fit... Now what???

I purchased a portable dishwasher for my apartment only to discover that the "standard piece" they provide for the faucet does not fit my faucet. So immediately what do I do? The faucet is to large for the piece... completely different model than your standard. Please don't describe me to go to a hardware store. I did that already, and they looked at me next to the dumbest look I've ever seen... Had no thought what i was discussion about. Where do I bring an adaptor that will fit my faucet, or is it a total loss? I wish the manufacturer would be a little more specific around the actual SIZE of the faucet you need to own to accomodate their product....

Answers:    Sink spigots are usually a standard size, and usually are connected in conjunction next to the aerator assembly. The adapter may be an external type or need to own internal threads. There are adapter rings that easily provide this nouns. Visit the dealer that handle your brand of dishwasher for specific adapter or go to a larger hardware store where on earth the "expert" isn't chewing gum and is more than 16 yrs old,,,(find someone who have actual plumbing experience) A typical adapter may be found at the link:http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pr...
okay, your faucet may have a removable piece that you can remove and bring near you, when you go subsidise to the hardware store.
your only other alternative is to go to a foundry and ask them to make a custom piece of metal to make an adaptor for your portable dish washer to your non standard sink.
but check the hardware store first. (and who ever with the sole purpose makes one trip to the hardware store?)
Since you own a computer you can go to the website of your dishwasher businessman and see what they have to set aside. They usually have a minister to link and may own the adapter you need and may also e-mail it to you free. You will have to calculate the inside diameter, also referred to as the I D, of your faucet opening by lay a ruler across the opening contained by the middle and note the height from inside edge to inside lip across the middle. The threads on most common faucets are matching. I would try this first. Best of luck.
