why sulfur taste in RO system?
should water feed be direct from well or from water softener?
Answers:
the r.o. must be installed after the water softener. Calcium will plug the membrane, which is expensive to replace. You could have sulfide reducing bacteria, or hydrogen sulfide gas in your water. If this is the case, you will need to shock the well, if this doesn't solve the problem, you may need a constant chlorine chemical feed system. Regardless, the membrane, and all the filters will need to be replaced and the entire R.O. must be sanitized.
Have your water tested for hydrogen sulfide gas, and sulfide reducing bacteria. Also have the TDS of your RO water tested. It should be less than 10 ppm.
