Answers: Make sure the little antenna rope on the closer is still in place. It usually hang down about six inches or so. If you own put something in the rafter and disturbed this wire it may not be delivery the signal from the remote. And do make sure you own fresh batteries within the remote. Most controllers have two or more remotes. Do both of them operate impossible to tell apart? If so something may be out of adjustment.

The problem is that your sensors have become mis-aligned. The electronic "eyes" have need of to be able to engender contact with respectively other. If they do not, then your garage door think that there is something blocking that joist and, as a safety portion, it will not close unless you "force" it by holding down the button.
An easy fix is to transport a laser level and strip those sensors back up again (you'll see them close at hand the bottom on each side of the garage door). They respectively have a round "eye" on them, and you want those to dash up so that the beam that comes out is received by the other sensor.
The sensors can take knocked out of alignment pretty efficiently, especially if you have kids or you enjoy been cleaning the garage and moving things around.
