Im not familiar with dishwashers, but mines will not drain. Would not having rinsing agent cause this.?

Take the bottom dishrack out and look to see if something is stopping it up first. Sometimes a plastic lid or small cup,etc will fall down and kinda melt and cover the drain hole. It could be a clogged drain hose. If you can't find anything under the bottom rack, call a plumber.

No, the rinsing agent is just to clear the soap scum from the dishes. Depending on the age of your dishwasher and other
factors, it could be several things. If you use powder detergent
that could make it stopped up. You probably will have to call a
repair man. It usually takes a professional, unless you have someone that can take the drain hose loose & see if it is clogged. Good Luck.

Dishwashers have a pump that removes the water. That might be one cause. Check the drain at the bottom, I had a glass break in the DW and a piece of it was stuck over the drain reducing the flow. A rinsing agent only removes spots from your dishes. Do you have hard water, if you do you could have mineral buildup restricting flow also.
