dont you have any friends, ethnic group or neighbors that can let them surrounded by. In any case, its up to you, if you don't want the gas consequently don't let them contained by and they won't turn it on.
That sucks. What can you do though? Maybe get bad work early to congregate the gas company there and not lose out on the WHOLE time??? Good luck.
If they won't do it on a Saturday, and you can't take time sour, call the board of Public Utilities and complain roughly the inconvenience and you feel they should do it on a Saturday as you can not win off from work! You can find the tele# surrounded by your telephone book.
Why don't you brand arrangements to leave a switch with a neighbor i.e. home during the day? It's not right that you should hold to take sour work and the gas company should understand that not everyone can in recent times take bad whenever they want. They should work some extended hours to accommodate their customer's work schedules.

They can change your meter while you are not home, but they cannot turn it fund on unless someone is home for safety purposes, resembling standing pilots, for example. Just tell them it's okay to variation it and that you will turn it back on yourself when you grasp home. Then you can relight you own pilots if you have any.
