Does anyone know where I can find an instruction manual for a Ford water heater?
Answers:
Be careful about fixing water heaters yourself. There is gas involved, which means safety issues. If it is over 20 years old, you might be better off getting a new one installed. It will save you time, effort, be safer, and be more energy efficient than things people made 20 years ago.

go to a auto parts store they may have what you need.

Find their website. Many manufacturers have instruction manuals online now. If not, you can contact them (e-mail) and ask if they can send you one or where one is available.
Another option is e-Bay. Post your request to "Want It Now" and maybe someone will respond - you should be able to get it for pennies...
Good luck.
P.S. If you can't find their website any other way, call a retailer and ask if they will look on packaging (or their records) for a website address. Infact, maybe a retailer has a manual you can copy or one they can give you.
I have never seen a Ford water heater in my 20 yrs of plumbing. Maybe it is time to get a new one?
A ford water heater is at least 20 years old. it is a glass lined tank which means it has a porcelain lined steal tank if the tank is leaking it needs to be replaced if you have colored water it means the porcelain has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. if you are looking for maintenance don,t start now sediment is probably holding it together.A new tank flushed twice yearly will outlast its warranty. If replacing tank use nothing but stainless steal Good-Luck.
call the 1-800 number on the manual
