yes, ribbed or standing seam metal roofing is a good option.it comes in a variety of colors and is cut to specs.it comes in three foot wide panals and is fastened with screws.of course plywood then an asphalt roof is always a good choice.last but not least is is a product like what you have up now it just is not see thru.im not sure if they still call it ongaleen anymore but i know it is still around because i just saw it being put on a garage when i was working on a house next door.good luck.

corrugated metal.
Install a ceiling after the roof. Don't put any beam so birds or other animals/insects won't stay on there.
Plastic panels are in-expensive. Try hosing down the panels. Once they have dried, place a "light" coat of cold moped tar covered with a "light" coat of colored sand for color. I emphasize light coats as I do not know how much weight the plastic panels will bear. I suspect the weight of the tar and sand may be too much for the plastic panels.
Just an idea.
You may need to use studier pannels.
Check with a local builder's supply, Home Depot, a roffing supply company or a roofing company.
You need to consider the Weight of any new type roof- like Plywood and rolled roofing. Metal is probably the best bet- but even then makes sure the Frame will take the weight.
Unless you doing this your self, try a company that re habs, mobile home roofs with metal.
