GE Heat Pump Blower Runs but no heat or cool?
Answers:
first thing, the t'stat is nothing more than a fancy on/off switch. check your breaker panel, see if the breaker to the a/c condenser is tripped, if so reset and see if runs. If breaker immediately trips again. Your screwed, call an a/c company cause more than likely the compressor is dead and you need a new unit. if none are those the problems go see if the condenser fan motor on unit spins. if it spins and air coming out top is cool, the compressor is probably stuck. Other is the condenser fain has failed, no air movement and compressor overheats and dies. Ma-by the contactors in unit failed, simple fix. Call around and see if there are any doityourself appliance stores or a/c parts stores who will sell to general public. check if you have a disconnect at the condenser, most look like small breaker box at unit. SQUARE D brand ones are bad about failing, and not sending voltage either 208-240 to a/c. Can get another at Home Depot/Lowe's and change the guts out. or another type of disconnect. but before you do any of this, you need a volt meter, and some basic mechanical skills, or u risk getting hurt or killed. Or simply call an A/C company and they will fix it. Good luck.
