I checked the user's manual, and all it says is to check the oil levels daily.....shouldn't there be something saying when to completely change the oil? Or is that not necesary with a generator?
Answers:
Either keep track of the hours and change the oil every 200-300 hours of operation or change the oil once per year.

A periodic oil change is necessary with an engine. If its not in the owner's manual, I'd change it annually.
If it gets really black and icky, change it.
depending on how much you use it, oil needs changing from 30 to 90 day. if it is used daily change every 30 days, small engines hold very little oil and the oil will break down quickly
