Electrical serve needed?

I'm needing to switch out a 240 volt relay. Right very soon it has a DPST ( double pole, single throw ) relay...can I switch it out next to a DPDT ( double pole, double throw ) relay? I know the DPDT is used to reverse power to motor....but if I didn't hook up the wires to reverse points...wouldn't it just shut past its sell-by date?

This relay goes to spa motor as all right as the heater.

Answers:    yes you can switch it out with the dpdt relay, a short time ago do not use the extra set of contacts you will have...
You are correct next to your understanding of the motor operation.

However, be aware that you will hold power applied to the output side you are not utilizing. If not properly protected or labeled, it can present a hazard to someone within later years who may not be educated of your component change.

Otherwise, I can not see a problem.
