How do I fix a damp wall inside my house?

It reaches into my built-in cupboards - please help!

Answers:
you can use calcium chloride its the salt substitute for melting ice off your drive way...well you can buy a pre-made tub of it you put it in the area you want to dry it draws moisture in to the tub and dries the area out like a dehumidifier they sell this at boat shops people use it to keep the moisture down in the cuddies off boats but you NEED to find the leak and get it fixed first then try this and fans to circulate air also run your a/c too it will dry the air out in side as well....hope you find the source of the water

first thing you are going to have to do is find out where the leak is coming from that's causing the dampness. until you do, there's no point of fixing anything, it'll only happen again.

fix the roof first. Then patch the hole in the wall from the water damage.
