We have two cracks in our poured concrete foundation - is it better to repair from the inside or outside?

Repairing from the outside is twice the price, but repairing from the inside would require that we remove and patch some drywall. I've heard that the inside method isn't as effective because water can still get into the crack from the exterior. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Answers:
out side clean the crack first apply hydralic cement then tar then test before backfilling should be permant

I think your best bet is to call a specialist for something like that. If it is fixed incorrectly, serious damage could result. At least if you are hiring someone to do it, the work is guaranteed and they have to cover all of the repairs, if applicable.

All foundations have cracks. All of them. If you are experiencing water, the crack should be fixed from the inside, but instead of that, build up the topsoil on the side of the house that the water is coming from and slope it AWAY from the house. Or, have concrete poured to make a 'sidewalk' that also slopes away from the house. If there's no water, there's no leak. No leak, no need to fix the crack.
First thing to worry about is whether your foundation is settling on you. If part of it is moving away from the rest of the house it can be a very expensive repair that is also very necessary. I've seen houses that were literally on the verge of falling apart due to uneven settling.

If you don't fix foundation problems first you'll just be seeing the cracks coming back over and over again and then structural failures.

As for patching. I don't understand. You will want to address cracks both inside and out. Leave the inside unpatched you may allow insects and such into the home. Outside you potentially allow water into the cracks which can freeze and unfreeze, basically the same way potholes are made.
I work in construction, and my advice to you is to contact a licensed contractor or if you know anyone in the business have them do an estimate and have them include everything that needs to be done, including a warranty for at least 2 years, and I believe that there is a contract stating that exact time frame. If you hire a non-licensed contractor, you could literally be throwing money out the window, because you have no recourse if something goes wrong. In the long run the money that you save by hiring a friend can cost you when you try to sell, and it can cause health problems by possibly causing mold in the foundation, letting bugs in and even worse, it can actually over time possibly start leading to cracked walls, ceilings, floor boards, and so on.
Try to get some photo or on the spot examples from the contractor. They're the professionals. You might even check with your home owners insurance company.
I suggest first contacting the builder. Some builders offer as much as a thirty year transferrable warranty against such cracks.
your best method is to dig to bottom of foundation from outside, clean wall and apply membrane you should also have crack injected from inside as well. Call the pros, i worked for a specialist last summer and this was our method. by the way his work was guaranteed for life
