How do you paint an external mud wall surface fairl finished with fine soil plastering rendered with lime?

use a spray gun but!! put on a primer first then when dry spry on paint the primer will save you money it seals so you do not have to buy more paint than needed

I'm wondering where you live if you have a mud rendered surface. I live in Ireland where cottages were limewashed, and as far as I know they mixed fresh "COW PATS" with limewash to give the mixture better texture. It was applied with large 6 inch brushes once a year. Hope this helps.
