Does anyone hold an I-Drive garage door starter? I've hear both polite and bleak...?
Answers: GOT ONE....Love it most of the time..The door adjustment is extremely critical, More so than most doors. That's why the installers don't like them. It take a lot more time to take the trim correct. Too much spring pressure & the door will not go down.(just unwrap the cable from around the drums). Too low and the motor wear inself out raising the door. (It's not designed to pull the door) Only lift 5 pounds. Had mine for 2 1/2 years and because of the style, I enjoy to keep keep under surveillance on the door pulleys, lube etc.. because all that change the door opening friction. The company have been appropriate sending me parts at no cost. They just replaced the complete motor element as the gear can't be bought seperatly They have taken the I-Drive rotten the market once and have one recall to replace the cable 'snubbers' to spring tensioners. The foreign models come with the cable spring tensioners & RF They look honest good very soon, just expect more preventiave mainance.
If the negative come from sellers and installers, that should relate you something, I have one and only sold 1 and i didnt even want to sell it, It is a wayne-dalton product, over priced as usual... The homeowners usually dont know any better something like products, thats why they say " oh it newly works great"
